Do you have an extensive classic car collection? If you do, then odds are you’ve put a lot of time and money into building that collection. This means that you should have a way to display those cars. A regular garage just won’t do that collection justice! We suggest building a custom garage design in order to house your beautiful automobiles. The following are a couple of examples that you can use to inspire your own custom garage design:

  • The Garaj- Mahal – The Garaj-Mahal is a huge garage built in the manner of a hanger – appropriate since this collector also happens to have an antique helicopter that needed to be displayed – and what better way to display a helicopter than by hanging it from the rafters? The cars in this garage have plenty of space to be showcased and are well lit due to the tall ceilings. There’s even a  second story walkway that allows you to inspect the helicopter up close and to get a good look at the cars on display down below!
  • Car Lodge – This custom garage design is not quite as big as the Garaj-Mahal, but what it lacks in size it more than makes up with in class. There’s an intimate feeling to walking around this car collection due to the beautiful blue-green tiled floors to the wood framed windows and doorways. Not to mention that the owner’s living area is built on the second floor of the garage, which means that they have instant access to their gorgeous collection of cars.

If you’ve invested a lot of money into a classic car collection, then you should invest in a way to display them as well. Contact us at Gelotte Hommas Architecture for more about building a custom garage design.
