Have you ever walked into a home and thought, “I could live here”?  When entering a room have you felt a sense of calm and serenity instantly?  Chances are these spaces were created with the help of a certified interior designer.

On a large number of our residential projects we have teamed with one of our favorite interior designers, Hilary Young.  She has over fifteen years of industry experience and is an ASID professional member and NCIDQ certified.

Her firm provides a process that is focused, creative and collaborative, resulting in finished spaces that uniquely suit their environment and the people who inhabit them.  Hilary personally oversees each project and provides unique solutions to difficult problems while encouraging innovative designs that go beyond the predictable.

Our clients always rave that Hilary provides outstanding design and project management services tailored to their distinctive requirements.

Whether you’re looking for a fun outing this summer for you and your spouse, your kids or visitors to the city of Seattle, we think the Seattle Architecture Foundation’s informative, guided walking tours are  a pretty neat way to get to know our surroundings.

Some neat upcoming tours include: “Let the Streets be your Museum,” a tour of the city’s best public and privately funded art (stops include Freeway Park and the Washington State Convention and Trade Center) on June 12 and “Window on Seattle’s Style,” an exploration of design elements of buildings ranging from English Gothic to brutalism and from Beaux Arts to Modernism (stops include Plymouth Congregational Church, the Financial Center and Fairmont Olympic Hotel) on July 1.

Find out why Seattle Met magazine named the SAF’s Tours one of 26 perfect ways to spend your Saturday.

Tours last approximately two hours and begin at the SAF Gallery, 1333 5th Ave, 3rd Floor, Rainier Square Atrium. Advance registration strongly encouraged. For more information, visit Seattle Architecture Foundation.

Save the date–on Thursday, June 17, the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) Northwest Chapter and the Design for the Majority section present the 2010 Design Debate: “Can Design Save the World?”. The event will take place at the Seattle Art Museum Olympic Sculpture Park Pavilion and is organized in partnership with AIA Seattle and the AIGA Seattle Chapter.

This moderated panel discussion will include an interdisciplinary panel of design professionals from the fields of industrial design, architecture, graphic design, interaction design and user experience design. The panel will discuss and debate issues related to designing sustainable products, structures and businesses for the 5.3 billion people living in less developed regions of the world.
